Andrew Foster-Williams studied at and is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music, London.

Opera plans this season and beyond include Balstrode Peter Grimes for Theater an der Wien; Telramund Lohengrin for La Monnaie, Brussels; Faraone in a new production of Rossini Mosé in Egitto by David Pountney for Welsh National Opera; in concert, Captain Corcoran HMS Pinafore with Scottish Opera and Richard Egarr at the 2015 Edinburgh International

Festival and Donner and Gunther in Opera North’s Wagner Ring Cycle in 2016.

Concert plans include Mendelssohn Elijah with The Handel and Haydn Society of Boston and with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Nicholas McGegan with whom Andrew will also appear in concerts including music by Bach and Mendelssohn; Janacek Glagolitic Mass with Orchestre Métropolitain, Montreal and Yannick Nézet-Séguin; Father Joseph in Gounod Cinq Mars with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester and Ulf Schirmer; Méphistophélès in Berlioz La Damnation de Faust in Moscow with the Russian National Orchestra and Haydn The Creation with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Opera roles have included Telramund at the Lanaudière Festival with Nézet-Séguin; Pizarro with Le Cercle de L’Harmonie and Jérémie Rohrer; Handel L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato at Teatro Real, Madrid with the Mark Morris Dance Group; Leporello Don Giovanni, Leone in Handel Tamerlano and Albert in Werther for Washington National Opera; title role William Tell in Wildbad; Nick Shadow The Rake’s Progress for Opéra National de Lorraine, Nancy; Deborah Warner’s staging of Messiah and Balstrode for Lyon Opera; Fenice in Handel Deidamia and Hidraot in Gluck Armide for Netherlands Opera; Pizarro, Leporello and Colline La Bohème for Opera North; Il Conte Figaro at the Beaune Festival; Alidoro La Cenerentola for WNO and Glyndebourne on Tour; Golaud Pelléas et Mélisande; four villains in Offenbach Les Contes d’Hoffman in Moscow and Garibaldo Rodelinda, Melisso Alcina and Argante Rinaldo at the Göttingen Handel Festival.

Recent concerts include Bach St John Passion (Christus) with the Concertgebouw Orchestra; Mozart Requiem with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Mass in C Minor with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and Christophe Rousset; Britten War Requiem with the Oregon Symphony Orchestra; Haydn Die Jahreszeiten with the LSO and Colin Davis and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and Paul McCreesh; Mozart Requiem also with the LSO; Beethoven Missa Solemnis and Brahms Requiem with L’Orchestre des Champs Elysée and Phillipe Herreweghe and with the RLPO and Vasily Petrenko; Dauvergne Hercules Mourant and Epaphus in Lully Phaeton with Les Talents Lyriques and Christophe Rousset; Elijah with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and with DSO Berlin; Haydn Creation and Seasons with the Gabrieli Consort and also Concert Spirituel and Hervé Niquet; Creation with OAE and Spohr Die Letzen Dinge and JC Bach Lucia Silla with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra,

Other US appearances have included Beethoven Cantata on the Death of Emperor Joseph II with the San Francisco S O and Michael Tilson Thomas; Bach St Matthew Passion (arias) and Mozart Requiem with the Philadelphia Orchestra; Haydn Nelson Mass and Bach Lutheran Mass with Franz Welser-Möst and the Cleveland Orchestra; Messiah with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Bernard Labadie and Beethoven Symphony No 9 with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra in San Francisco.
